Valentine’s Day Date Ideas: Rooftop Dinner

Rooftop Dinner

On Valentine’s Day, I had planned a very special surprise dinner for just my boyfriend and me. It took me a whole week to plan this and gather all the things that I needed for our special dinner, but it was worth it!

On Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend had to work from 7:30am – 8:30pm, so at 6:30 that night, my sister and I set up a table on the rooftop of my dad’s apartment building. We put a very silky red cloth over the table and I added a vase filled with the roses he gave me earlier that day. I ordered take-out food from our favorite restaurant then set up a CD player with a CD I had made of our love songs. I also set up candles and dessert. (Dessert was Hershey’s kisses with which I inserted reasons why I love you – an idea I got from your website.)

Once everything was set up, I had my sister keep an eye on everything and called his sister to give him a message to get dressed up and then meet me at my apartment. I then had another sister pick up the take-out food and bring it over to the rooftop setting, where she and a friend would set it up for me.

When my boyfriend arrived at my apartment, he was very curious! I told him to cover his eyes and I led him up to the rooftop. Once he was seated, my sister played the CD and I told him he could open his eyes.

He was surprised all right! He was speechless! My sister and friend left us to enjoy our Valentine’s dinner. We saw them off, and then turned our full attention to our dinner, which we did.

It was really worth all the hard work to see my boyfriend surprised and loving it all!
