My husband has never been known for his romantic side, but there are a few expectations. One of those expectations is the day he proposed. That day we planned on going to a baseball game.
Early in that morning I woke up to find a letter on my pillow. It told me to walk into the kitchen. When I did I found breakfast on the table with an orchid and another letter. I ate and read the letter. The letter told me to get ready for the game and to drive to the Veterans Hospital which was right by the stadium. I did as I was told and found him waiting there for me with a bouquet of calli lilies.
We walked around the area until about 10 and then went down to the stadium. My husband had to work at the stadium so I went to my seat and sat and watched the game. I stayed for the whole game and when it was over I waited for him down on the Field Level.
All of sudden I heard my name and his friend Chris came over to me. He led me out onto the field and on the pitcher’s mound was my husband with candles surrounding the mound and a box in his hand.
He got down onto one knee and on the big screen in the stadium where they keep track of the score read „Maggie will you marry me?” I ran up to him with tears in my eyes and he picked me up. I kept saying yes until he put me down and put the ring on my finger.
It was engraved with this quote „My missing rib”. It was from an old story I read to him.
